The Romantic Wedding of María and Javier

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing the romantic destination wedding of María and Javier, a Spanish couple who met in the bustling city of London looking for new opportunities. After the proposal in one of the most exotic islands of the Caribbean, Antigua and Barbuda, they decided to organize their dream wedding in their birth city.

María and Javier, live in London and that is why they decided to get married in Spain. For them it was the perfect opportunity to have a destination wedding but at the same time be close to their roots. Although they dreamt of a wedding in Spain, they also knew they wanted it to be very unique and very non-traditional (compared to Spanish weddings). So first step to planning their most wonderful day was booking the lovely wedding planners Que se Besen.

It is not very common that a couple know from the beginning what they want for in terms of design and colors, but this couple did:  they wanted a wedding set in a Nordic-romantic air with a color palette based on pink, gold and green. With the help of their planners they included marble to continue in this innovative and groundbreaking line.

For their ceremony they chose me as their celebrant for their wedding and together we prepared a bilingual ceremony in Spanish/English giving great importance to the intervention of friends and family and as a special touch we included the rose ceremony.

During the whole day, the hexagon was chosen as a central element since it has a special meaning for them.  The hexagon is the geometric figure in which the six-pointed star can be inscribed as a symbol of the divine and the spiritual. This figure is considered by many to be the symbol of sweetness of heart and love.

I always say that the details are very important for a wedding and that is why together with the advice of Que se Besen they played a lot with corners. A photocall with a chester and neon letters, a foodtruck with typical Spanish croquettes, a beautiful sweet table from Aquarela Cakes, a chill out area set up by All Image White and even a donut stand! Have a look and enjoy the pictures of Silvia Sanchez Photography.
